Course content

The practical introduction to mantrailing comprises 4 lessons of approximately 3 hours each and costs CHF 150.00. The practical introduction also always includes the teaching of key theoretical concepts.

Goal

The beginner's course is for dog teams with no prior experience in mantrailing. The goal is to determine if mantrailing is the right training method for the team. If there are enough participants, a workshop focusing on theoretical aspects will be offered.

Requirements

The minimum age for the beginner's course is 6 months. Puppy trails and search games are done with all younger dogs.

 

Mantrailing training takes place in all weather conditions. The dog team must be prepared for all weather conditions.

Having your own car is an advantage.

The advanced mantrailing course comprises 4 lessons of approximately 3 hours each and costs CHF 150.00. The advanced course also always includes the teaching of key theoretical topics.

Goal
Advanced mantrailing training builds upon the initial mantrailing course. The skills acquired in the initial training are reinforced, and new areas of focus are introduced.

• Basic trails / basic work

• Learn to read body language

• Trailing on different surfaces

• First intersections

• Forms of display behavior

• Leash handling / Human-dog communication

Mantrailing training takes place primarily in and around the city of Zurich. Participation is open to all dog teams. Training is tailored to the individual skill level of each dog team, meaning every team receives personalized support. Attending both the introductory and advanced courses is advantageous.

Each dog team has one trail. However, there are also areas of focus that are trained over several sections.
